From Zhang Laboratory
Introduction of the Zhang Laboratory
I will start my own lab by the end of the year 2012 as an assistant professor at Columbia University. We will be a part of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Columbia Initiative in Systems Biology, Motor Neuron Center, and Columbia Stem Cell Initiative.
The vision of my own lab will be to infer RNA regulatory networks in the nervous system, as a way to understand the mammlian complexity manifested in evolutionary-developmental (evo-devo) processes and in several neuronal disorders. My lab will have a combination of dry and wet lab setup (a.k.a. "humid" lab). We will use mouse brain, mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as model systems using a combination of high-throughput data driven and hypothesis driven approaches.
We will have positions for wet and dry lab postdocs and a lab technician for very motivated individuals with relavant background and training. More details will follow soon.
